Where is my data stored?

Locally, on your device. We do not run servers that hold your expenses. You can optionally create encrypted backups (protected by a PIN you choose) and sync between your own devices over your local Wi-Fi network.

Can two people share the same household budget?

Yes. One person becomes the Household Owner and opens Settings → Sync — the QR code is right there on the screen. The other person scans it with their phone’s camera and the two phones pair automatically over Wi-Fi. Each expense can then be marked as shared or personal.

Do I need an internet connection?

No. BillPlex works fully offline. You only need Wi-Fi (not the internet) if you want to sync between your own devices.

Can I switch devices without losing my data?

Yes. Export an encrypted backup from the old device, move the file to the new one, and import it using the same PIN.

Which devices does BillPlex run on?

BillPlex is available on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Android phones — get it from the App Store or Google Play. You can pair an iPhone with an Android phone in the same household and they sync the same household budget over Wi-Fi.
