Is BillPlex really free?
BillPlex is free to download and the core features are free to use. Some advanced features may become optional in-app purchases in the future — never a forced subscription.
Where is my data stored?
Locally, on your device. We do not run servers that hold your expenses. You can optionally create encrypted backups (protected by a PIN you choose) and sync between your own devices over your local Wi-Fi network.
Can two people share the same household budget?
Yes. One person becomes the Household Owner; the other installs BillPlex and joins the existing household. They then pair over Wi-Fi. You can mark each expense as shared or personal.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. BillPlex works fully offline. You only need Wi-Fi (not the internet) if you want to sync between your own devices.
Can I switch devices without losing my data?
Yes. Export an encrypted backup from the old device, move the file to the new one, and import it using the same PIN.
Is BillPlex available on Android?
BillPlex is currently iOS-only. An Android version is being considered based on demand.
